We had a small group of 5 total people. The guide was excellent in explaining the history of our sites and gave us time to explore Salzburg on our own. The vehicle was roomy and we made several stops going to Salzburg. I highly recommend this tour.


This was a great trip to Salzburg with a drive through the lake region. Ruie was a knowledgeable well spoken engaging guide and driver. We learned a great deal and would highly recommend.


Wonderful tour guide. Bus driver was great also. Needed to make a few more bathroom stops than they were planning. But they were great about it. The concentration camp was sad and informational. Glad we did it.

Salzburg was amazing the scenery, the mountains, lakes and villages are eye opening. We had a very good English speaking tour guide who was well versed in commentary on the history and the story behind the movie "the Sound of Music". He also provided historic commentary on the country side and places of interest on the way to Salzburg. The drive there and back was comfortable and safe with plenty of free time available for sight seeing and photo oportunities.

Highly recommend everyone to do this tour. Very interesting, informative and confronting. The drive was not too long, once there you see the quarry, camp and museum. I will never forget this experience.

Being history buffs this tour was something we just had to do. One of the darkest moments in history if not the most and we visited the actual site of the concentration camp. On the way Ulrich showed us the main city sights as we crossed Vienna and kept us entertained and informed through out. Mauthausen itself has a dark grim energy and you definitely come out a different person, and the historical accuracy and some of the items that remained just give you the clearest pictures possible of the holocaust. Ulrich asked us to watch a short documentary on the way there so that we were better informed and this truly helped us understand the place better and gave context. Highly recommend!

Excellent experience if you've visited Dachau, Auschwitz, Birkenau, Terasianstadt then a visit to Mauthausen is a must. The Cafe Restaurant is also excellent. Try the goulash soup mit semmel. Best around you'll get.

Very comfortable van and driver (Josef) was very good. Everything was on time as far as pick up and return. Sites were amazing

The tour was great. The minibus was so comfy and Josef our tour guide was so knowledgeable. We saw the beautiful countryside (the lakes were my personal favourite of the trip) and the beautiful city of Salzburg. I highly recommend.

Very informative & EXCELLENT driver cum guide - JOSEF. We even stops at few spots with magnificent view of the lake with reference to the famous THE SOUND OF MUSIC while we are heading & when we were in Salzburg.

Excellent tour. Guide on bus was excellent. Self guided tour at Mauthausen was also excellent. Only fault was the stop for lunch. Place was well below average. Better of just going back to Vienna and not waste 45 minutes.
